What is Included in Western/International Ski Trips?
Most trips include round trip air, ground transportation from the airport to accommodations, lodging, lift tickets, and social events. The exception is the Provide Your Own Transportation (PYOT) trips where participants get their own air. European trips do not include lift tickets; however, breakfast and dinners are usually included as well as full trip insurance coverage. This gives participants the opportunity to avoid the cost of a lift ticket when they want to take a day or more for cultural and/or sightseeing side excursions.
Making Reservations
To make a reservation, obtain a trip flyer and complete the trip application section. Send it, along with a deposit check of $250 payable to SCWDC, to the trip leader. In accordance with SCWDC policy, the leader of each trip will confirm the status of participants on all trips only upon receipt of the $250 deposit check or authorization to charge your credit card for the full amount of the trip. Participants will be confirmed in order of receipt of checks and should receive confirmation within 7 days. Please understand that our club is operated by volunteers and that trip business is handled when personal time is available. Trip size varies from 24-50 participants, and each participant will receive individual responses when time permits.
Trip application forms are available by clicking on a particuclar trip in the table below. Be sure to complete the form and include all information requested.
Trip Full/Wait List, Use of Frequent Flier Miles and Special Considerations
If the trip is full, you will be notified by the leader who will place you on a wait list. Vacancies created by cancellations are filled in the order in which deposits are received by the trip leader. More information: How the wait list works Special note: Do not arrange for any frequent-flier air space for a particular destination until you have been confirmed as a participant on the trip and have EXPLICIT agreement from the trip leader to use your FF miles. Some trips do not have an option to use frequent flyer miles or the number may be controlled by the travel agent. IF you are confirmed on a trip and are given the go-ahead to book your own air reservation, be aware that you are liable for the cost of an entire land package should you cancel from the trip, and a replacement cannot be found to assume your “land-only reservation”. Also, you are responsible for your own ground transportation to the destination ski area, if you can't meet the schedule of the SCWDC-provided ground transportation.
All ski trips are payable by credit card. Contact trip leader for details.
Prices are preliminary until further notice. There is still the possibility that trip information may continue to change.

Details
If you are a guest, a $45 guest fee is assessed which must be included with your deposit. Guests are waitlisted until three weeks prior to the trip's departure date; therefore, guests cannot be immediately confirmed. For popular trips, this means the spaces are rarely left open until three weeks before the trip. A SCWDC single membership is $45. Join our club and be assured of a reservation.
Accommodations
SCWDC uses a mix of hotels and condominiums. All reservations are for double occupancy per hotel room or bedroom. Usually in condominiums (particularly those that are privately owned) SCWDC cannot guarantee the bedding configuration. If they are available, trip leaders will attempt to alleviate a bedding configuration problem with a cot or a rollaway bed. If a participant requests a cot or rollaway bed, any extra cost may be borne by the participant.
Cancellation Policy
Cancellation of a confirmed reservation will incur a $40 cancellation fee. Cancellations made on or after the published cancellation date are also subject to non-recoverable expenses or penalties such as airline seats, airline ticket name changes, lodging, and other goods and services which cannot be filled, released, or exchanged. Cancellation notification must be made in writing and submitted to the appropriate trip leader before any refunds will be issued. The postmark date of the cancellation notice is considered to be the cancellation notification date.
Trip Insurance
Europe trips include trip insurance. For domestic and Canadian trips insurance is available at an extra cost from the SCWDC contracted travel agents. Trip participants are strongly urged to purchase travel insurance to protect against losses in the event you cannot travel or cannot complete the trip or are injured during the trip. Check with the SCWDC trip leader for more information about trip insurance.
